2001 MOORE ACADEMY BENEFIT DEER HUNT
The Moore Academy Alumni Association, Inc. will sponsor a deer hunt on Friday afternoon, November 29, Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1 to raise funds for the continued restoration of the Moore Academy School facilities located in Pine Apple, Alabama. Please note that this year's hunt will begin at noon on Friday. This hunt is sponsored in conjunction with the annual Pine Apple Hunter Appreciation Day on November 30.
Participants in the Moore Academy Hunt will receive complimentary tickets to the Friday Night Barbeque Dinner and are entered in the Big Buck Contest on Saturday. Prizes will be awarded in three divisions again this year: Men, Ladies, Children under 18, with participants in each category eligible for the grand prize. This hunt is a "no-frills" hunt and is priced accordingly. Our guides will place you in a stand - or area - and will provide facilities for cleaning your deer. Accommodations will generally be at area motels, although limited lodging may be provided in area camps if requested in advance.
Please note that you may harvest one doe and
one buck per day, or two does per day in accordance with Alabama Game
Regulations. Some landowners may restrict the doe harvest to one per day. A
valid Alabama hunting license is required and is your responsibility.
We have several tracts of land in the Pine Apple,
Furman, and Snow Hill areas available for the hunt. Also, we are offering a
Friday afternoon-Saturday hunt, or a Saturday-only hunt at reduced prices as
noted. Specific information for the hunt is provided on the following
application form, and area motel information is contained on a separate sheet
attached. You should make reservations for the hunt and motels early since we
have limited slots available and motels fill up early this week-end. If you have
questions please call Don Donald, Hunt Coordinator, at 334-682-9825 days or
251-746-2519 nights, or e-mail Don at grsouth@frontiernet.net.
